27th June 2009 We took one of the Goodwood G4s testing on Thursday. Only minor fettling was required. Ginetta Heritage Racers are invited to a couple of Races with The Bentley Drivers Club at Silverstone 8/9th August. Email Spadge for details. 7.30 am Wednesday morning, the phone goes: "Ee op Spadge, it's Gary from Ginetta and I'm in your yard!" A completely unexpected delivery of G33 and various other chassis jigs. Four G12s recently competed together at Prescot Hill climb, a record perhaps? There's some news from the USA too. |
18th June 2009 Joel and Ben got a G4/4 to play with. The GRS got a new MOT and even some encouraging comments from the MOT man!
Justin has taken his G4 for testing and racing soon. There are now more details and a price adjustment for the long wheel base G4.
Testing is booked and preparations for the two G4s racing at The Goodwood Revival in September are well under way. Spadge and Emile will be doing the Spa 6 hour in September also: it's shaping up to be a busy month! |
15th June 2009 Good news from Castle Combe. Roger reports: Dave Randal came second in the HSCC Historic Road Sports – his first race of the year. The race ended under the safety car, which was a shame because Dave was gaining on the leader (James Paterson, Morgan V8) and shaping up for a lunge when the incidents occurred that bought out the safety car.
The new owners of Ted Walker's G16; Graeme & James Dodd, won the HSCC Guards Trophy race, beating a swarm of Chevron B6/8s. They seemed to cope with the traffic better and made the right pit call when the safety car came out just after half distance. Sadly, George Douglas had problems in practice with his silver G16 (he still has his white G12 apparently!) and qualified well down. In the race he circulated off the pace before retiring at about quarter distance.
Rainer came from Vienna and fell in love with the Suffolk coast and a G4. He bought the G4 and interviewed Spadge for a Radio programme in Austria. We followed the Ginetta factory Le Mans effort as often as we could over Le Weekend. Good effort chaps! We have a G15 restoration case coming in. Email Spadge if you are interested. Gerry helped us at Oulton at the weekend but despite our efforts we were thwarted by a mystery ignition problem. However we got to learn about Gerry's plans to promote G15 racing which will compliment Ginetta Heritage Racing nicely. |
11th June 2009 Goodwood Revival, here we come! Two G4s have been invited to race for the Fordwater Trophy this September. One is the ex - Gould car featured on the front of "the" book. The other was the ex - Greenwood car repatriated from Canada (another one!) some years ago. Obviously, we're pretty chuffed as both had chassis restorations here.Steve has managed to get another G4 back from Detroit. It'll be coming here shortly and we looking forward to seeing a rare "high-tail". The big boys from Ginetta are racing Ginettas at THE Le Mans 24 hour race. Three Ginettas are entered..........Amazing! We wish them all the best. The not - so - big boys at Ginetta Heritage have got themselves a G4/4, coming to a sprint/hillclimb/trackday near you soon and Spadge is at Oulton on Saturday. |
7th June 2009 What a week! Testing threw up some more work for the team. Martyn's G4 is painted in a colour scheme rarely seen these days....We are looking for a cheap track-day car for Ben and Joel and have a modest amount of cash waiting for the right thing. What have you got? A nice big valve Lotus Twin Cam that needs a rebuild is available for someone with a G12 or G4 in mind. Steve's G21 went home, the round tube G4 went to Germany and the GRS is off for an MOT. |
3rd June 2009 The Hickling G4 is pretty much finished. Allen raced in Canada in the 60s. His reasons for switching from TVR to Ginetta were obvious. The designer of the St Jovite circuit in Canada, met up with Justin, the new owner and came to see his old car last week. He confirmed that the car he raced had been restored from a sorry state to it's former glory and beyond. There was much smiling, lunch at The Station and more arty photographs. There were some modifications required to accommodate Justin and minor problems delayed our scheduled testing last week until today; and the race on Saturday was scratched. We are now aiming to get the car out at Castle Coombe on the 14th where most people will get a nice view of it.
There are more pictures of our recent Ginetta Heritage Race here. We are hoping for some video soon. |
27th May 2009 The Heritage Race Results and pictures are in! See the Motor Sport Section. Thanks to Paul, Roger and Clive for the pictures so far. Keep them coming. We should have some videos too, soon. |
26th May 2009 The Heritage Race went well! A full report will follow soon but we need some of our loyal fans to send in some pictures. In the meantime, the G4 restoration kit is sold. And Eric has been showing off again about how great it is in Spain, doing doughhnuts on the beach. |
| 23rd May 2009 Good gracious! What a day! Judging from the number of texts, emails and calls lots of people are excited about our race on Monday: Tickets have been sent to fans in the four corners of our fair isle. The van is already stacked with sold wheels and tyres, a G15 windscreen, panels and G12 suspension parts for various friends.
Geoff turned up for a paint quote and parked next to Zane, about to attempt to drive home for the second time:
A welcome text text from Zane: "Back home! Perfect run, 1 stop... For petrol! Superb fun, esp country roads, steering perfect. Engine and cooling great too. Thanks for the top job, good luck on track. Till soon " We sold a square tube G4 continuation car first thing, it'll be heading for Europe. That lovely green round tube G4 also sold to go to Germany, quite a few other people were after it for more money, but we kept our word; Dooh! Highlight of the day has to be the glorious addition to our Heritage fleet. We are convinced that Lawrence and Richard will be chuffed to bits to know that their assault on Le Mans in a Ginetta LMP1 car will be supported by this iconic example of their company's fine products! The wonderful weather prompted us to give any cars that can actually move under their own power, an airing:
some don't run.
The Round tube G4 kit is now in.
Paul and his G33 are back after a 1625 mile trip and he tells us that Gineta in Spain is 150 miles SE of Madrid! Well done Paul, your uprated G33 steering arms are here, ready and waiting. |
| 20th May 2009 The final entries for our Heritage Race on Bank Holiday Monday are in and it looks like we have 15 on the grid at Mallory Park. Anyone wanting tickets should email Spadge. Justin's G4 is back from the paintshop and Allen who raced it in the 60's is coming to see us all next week.
It's going to take a concerted effort though!
Our recent trip to Devon resulted in this lovely addition to stock, and the delivery of Colin's G15. We were soon cleaning the round tube G4 and will put details on here next week.
Paul and his G33 made it to Potes in the Picos Mountans. He's not the only Ginetta zooming about in Spain though. Eric is there too. Zane's G15 nearly made it out of Suffolk with it's new MOT but now the carb has been unblocked it's a right little goer! |
18th May 2009 More from Paul in his G33: "Hope you can see the village sign!" But it didn't do them much good as they were soon..."lost!" But later made it to "Toledo" And then a little over-exuberance......."£350 speeding fine! 115 kms in a 50"
Whoops! Head to the hills! "6000ft"
"Staying in a village high above Segovia with a beautiful Kings Palace. Still very hot. Heading for Potes tomorrow. Trip mileage 1050 so far. |
17th May 2009 From Paul in his G33:"hola de Espana!" "At monasterio de san piedra, nuevalos!" Is that Spanish for marvellous we wonder?! "Cuenca! 600 miles"
|
14th May 2009 The G32 sold quickly, in fact it didn't even get here. Mike saw the mention of it on this site and it's now tucked up awaiting a Zetec engine.Brands Hatch last weekend was not good for the Suffolk contingent. We had fuel starvation in practice. Once the new air filters were thrown in the bin, it was time for the alternator to die and the low battery to give up. Chris decided to try the marbles in 4th gear around Clearways. Ouch! We were left to watch the other races with some delightful Kentish Gentlemen. Oh, and by the way, we've a £6,500 round tube G4 restoration kit in soon ............ |
7th May 2009 This G4 sold quickly, and the G15 did too.It's MOT time for a G21 and a G4. And Paul's G33 is getting a steering rack. There's another Lovely Dare G4 coming in soon. |
5th May 2009 We are racing at Brands Hatch this Saturday, with the Classics Sports Car Club in the Swinging 60s race. A larger fuel tank has been fitted! There is an interesting G27 on Ebay. Graham's G15 has it's new shocks and bushes, Zane's is off for an MOT, Colin's is going home to Cornwall. |
May the 4th Be with you. Star Wars Day, it's an old joke but we like it!The yellow G4 is sold. We now have pictures of the G15 for sale. There's another lovely Dare G4 just arrived. |
25th April 2009 Some of the team would like to introduce you to our latest G4 in stock. This car was parked up in 1969 and we rescued it last week. It's now safely in the barn and for sale. We have an extremely rare, hardly used, better than new, long cockpit Dare G4 on the books.
We have a G32 convertible coming in for sale. That G15 needing recommissioning is now listed. Zane's G15 is off for an MOT. Paul's G33 has been in for it's MOT and work over prior to his customary Spanish tour. The entries for our Ginetta Heritage Race on 25th May at Mallory Park are building up nicely. There are some major changes regarding the rest of the series which we'll elaborate upon next week. |
| 17th April 2009 There's so much happening we can't tell you! Ginettas should be orange (or at least blue)
Simon's was and still is:
|
10th April 2009 The first 2009 Heritage/Club race Regs and entry forms are out! If you have not received your copies let us know or click on the blue links. The first entries are already in.Regs Entry Form Our bargainsome 20 minute race with plenty of practice is at Mallory Park on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May. It's £175 with no membership or registration fees to pay. Impressively, there are 3 Ginetta Zytek entries for the Le Mans 24 hour race this year. More exciting news from our big brother here With a G15 back on the road after a long lay-off, another G15 in and the possibility of a low mileage G15 needing re-commissioning (email Spadge or call him asap), we are reminded that we have a weber manifold and a pair of rear shocks ordered by people whose names we have mislaid! Any ideas?
A stylish video of the land speed record G4 can be enjoyed here.
The G16 went yesterday HAPPY EASTER BY THE WAY! |
6th April 2009 What a great start to the season! We had a sprint in the morning at Lydden Hill (very near France) with the Ginetta Owners' Club, competing with Peter and Geoff. Predictably 3rd in class was achieved on our historic, Dunlop Historic tyres. Mind you Peter has been doing it a long time! In the afternoon we raced with SEMSEC which is heartily recommended for any Ginetta with sticky tyres. It is good, affordable, friendly racing. On Sunday, the sun came out at Snetterton.
Chris and Spadge were in the CSCC Swinging 60s race and Matt Smith was out in the Sports v Saloon Challenge. Qualifying fastest in Class, Spadge though he had it in the bag. The first half of the race went very well with him leading the class by a decent margin and running midfield amongst the sticky rubber shod Lotus Elans, Marcoses and Spridgets. After a quick mandatory pit stop fuel starvation slowed him down and once Chris had finally caught him up and snatched the class win that was rightfully his (!), there was nothing for it but to park the car on the trailer and consider making a bigger fuel tank! Nick was later seen making minor adjustments to the car of our nemesis prior to our next battle at Brands hatch on 9th May! Ginetta Heritage Challenge Points to be published shortly. |
| 1st April 2009 Happy Birthday to us! One year old today. There are some lovely Ginettas still in everyday use. Ginetta author, guru and GOC Chairman Trevor Pyman dropped by in his G32 the other day.
We have been playing with a seat kit for one of the G4s which is now nearly ready for paint. The G16 is just about done for now and we have been playing with wheels and tyres and the roll cage. |
| 31st March 2009 G4s seem to be flavour of the week. There are three different ones in the workshop and a land speed record car on the bulletin board.
|
| 28th March 2009 Racing Mates are different to normal mates. Mark F, Chris D, Chris B, Trevor K, and another bloke whose name escapes us have let Spadge race their cars! Usually worth £2/30,000 +. Fully knowing at the time we could not afford to buy the car but probably, could mend it, sort of. What top blokes! It turns out that this year most of them don't have a car. So you may well meet them in the G4 with us. Let's hope so. Maybe not Chris B - the famous Essex farmer. He'll borrow your car, blow it up and then run away - like a very fit rabbit!
|
| 20th March 2009 Suddenly, after a year off we remembered why doing this is better than a proper job! A test day.
The new engine with much help from Throbknozzle, etc and we were loving it. Joel was getting into silly situations as usual......
Arriving home, tired and happy; Autosport was on the mat with a really nice article about us (all pictures from here at 2 hours notice!) The beer at the Station Hotel never tasted sweeter, and Nick escaped without anymore silly pictures of himself. or Fos Wilson, ...for now |
| 19th March 2009 We're off to Snetterton testing today! Series Registrations are coming in thick and fast. Have you sent yours?
|
16th March 2009 The fastest Postman in England? Tim goes to work in this beauty:The G27 is sold. We found the jigs and are doing a batch of Imp twin 40 manifolds. All our G15 cages are sold but we may do another batch .. Email us |
| 15th March 2009 Sorry for the late update. There's a beautiful G16 at Auction this weekend and we've been making a Cage for another one.! Somewhere, in Wales there's a G15 lover getting ready for the Aberduff Concours d'Elegance!
Or he could take his blue one..........or the red one with the handy luggage rack! There's a slightly better G15 on Ebay. We have two other G15s coming in for work shortly, we're already working on one and have a full restoration pending too. Our G4 is hopefully now ready for our Race Series test day this coming Thursday. Pictures of Clive's G27 overtaking the G50 Zytek at the Ginetta Test day last Monday should be up here soon........ |
4th March 2009 It's happening less and less these days but there's a G4 for sale on site here! In the workshop, the G16 cage is nearly done, there's a G15 heading for an MOT, another G15 full restoration on the cards, the Hickling G4 is coming together and our G4 is putting up a fight while we try and fit the LSD and new engine in time for the Ginetta Media day at Snetterton next Monday.
A number of our Heritage and Club racers will be coming to the sport for the first time this year, so they will be taking their ARDS test. One such chap is Martyn, proud owner of a G4 for everyday use and another competition car. We bumped into him leaving Snetterton after a successful day. |
23rd February 2009 We got the Hickling G4 back, sold it again, and now we are putting it back to how it was for use by an anonymous Australian HSCC entrant with a previous penchant for Australian fibreglass and Alfas. There's a nice road registered G27R on Ebay - suitable for the Heritage Series. And a G20 Junior. There's news on the USA section about the G50 competing out there. We now have 2 Heritage eligible races to enter at Spa in July, so we have! |
11th February 2009 More Good News! The updated and simplified calendar for 2009 can now be opened in our Motorsport section. The are now four events where the Heritage and Club cars car race together including Spa in July. The other exclusively Ginetta events are at Mallory, Lydden and Cadwell, and there are plenty of other points scoring events for both series. The all-comers July event requires a small deposit to the organiser by the end of the month. |
| 10th February 2009 Good News! Ginetta have handed over the running of the Club Ginetta Races to us. These will run with our own Heritage grids but scoring points separately. In essence we will now accept entries from all closed wheel Ginettas that are not eligible for the factory run series. So G27s, G20s that have not been upgraded and G20 Juniors also. We hope that this will also give us scope to cater more fully for the Dare G4s and G12s with modern engines. Our third exclusive race event will be at Cadwell Park on 5th September and there is also a modern Ginetta grid at Spa in early October to which the Club competitors are invited.
Simon Dobier (above) will be scoring points in our Heritage Challenge by competing in New Zealand in 2009. The Ebay G15 was chassis number one. Paul Knapton paid a handsome price for his Dad's old car that received 23 bids despite being much modified and in a rather sorry state! Good Man, we don't blame him! The Bulletin Board is still being upgraded - apologies to the legions of you from whom we have received complaints. |
5th February 2009 Good News! For owners/fans/prospective owners of Ginetta G15, G32 and G10 models. More factory moulds were unearthed and despite previous fears, the front end moulds for the G32 had not been lost. The G16 is going together nicely with the G16A suspension arrangements being reinstated on the factory chassis. There's a G15 on Ebay. It's a nice early model. |
2nd February 2009 The G12 has gone! There is at least one Ginetta heading for the Le Mans 24 hour race this year. The Bulletin Board is being maintained at the moment and we have had an encouraging number of complaints! The Ginetta Owners' Club Sprint and Hillclimb dates can be accessed via the motor sport section of this site. |
27th January 2009 The G16 is sold! There is a inexpensive G20 on Ebay, eligible for our Heritage Race Series. We have a round tube G4 with international history and a restored chassis coming email us. |
22nd January 2009 The G32 is a rare and yet practical car. With over 100 cars made, most of which on un-galvanised chassis, some of them are beginning to suffer. We are tempted to commission a chassis jig. Let us know if you are interested in a G32 chassis. |
21st January 2009 There haven't been enough G15s on here recently!. But there has been some interesting stuff on the Bulletin Board. We have just supplied some parts for a lovely G4 in France. |
| 19th January 2009 The 2008 GOC Sprint and Hillclimb Championship results can be found in the motorsport section.. Our G4 is gaining new shocks and springs, an LSD, a new seat and hopefully a few more bhp prior to the forthcoming test day.
|
16th January 2009 The entry form for our first Heritage Series test day can be found in the motorsport section. |
14th January 2009 The programme of Races for the Heritage Series are now available via a link on the Motorsport section. We have the Ginetta Owners' Club Hillclimb and Sprint results on there also. We've been working hard on a turquoise G15 this week. There's a very nice Dare G4 on site for sale at £14,000 but the weather has been too awful to photograph it. Details soon but if you can't wait; email Spadge |
12th January 2009 A packed Autosport show produced some great news for Ginetta Heritage Racing which you can see on our dedicated page. We also had five new additions to our Heritage Racers' database which should mean full and fun grids. Some news from Japan here. We had many friends old and new, who came to talk Ginetta Heritage. The G50s looked fantastic and the G20 and G20 Juniors attracted much interest. It was the Ginetta - Zytek LMP 1 car that was the star of undoubtedly the busiest stand of the show. With Ginettas on many other stands it was mooted that there were 14 cars at the NEC - the most of any marque!
Other highlights of the gruelling 4 day show included the award by The MIIA to Ginetta for the Best Small Company of the Year shown here, rather late at night to a worse - for - wear photographer; working with the frighteningly young Ginetta driving star Nigel Moore; and meeting the delightful representative of the Ginetta Sponsored - Teenage Cancer Trust. A superbly organised, champagne reception and prize - giving dinner in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust was enjoyed by all who attended which included Bart Simpson whose lady pleasing skills were applauded by the oldest swinger in town, in between his fantastic impressions of the Great Yarmouth Sea-life Centre singing goldfish.
|
6th January 2009 The Christmas cards came down today. One present Spadge got will be useful for the Ginetta Cars Award Night which is held while we are all up at the Autosport Show.
|
| 5th January 2009 Happy New Year! We are just catching up with stuff and getting back into the swing of working again, but in the meantime, the New Video of Dave Randall Racing a G4, edited by Des, is a cracker. Although he is swamped at the start by the V8 TVRs and Morgans and some of the Lotus Elans, his 1500cc HSCC legal pushrod Ginetta G4 is eventually second. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pcdSuk8aPuU And also Emile at Spa, in the Sun http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=_MMcMHyHYDE |
| 26th December 2008 Four contenders so far for the sad email prize! Favourite Christmas present:
|
| 24/25th December 2008 What on earth are you doing?!? It's Christmas for goodness sake! You should be watching Wallace and Gromit and partaking in over-indulgence, rowing with family members you don't really like, and all those other wonderful things that make Christmas the special time that it is. However, the best email received at this special time will earn the originator a truly fitting Ginetta Heritage Prize. |
22nd December 2008 There we were wondering what seasonal picture we could put up; when Patrick W-B came up with the goods! Mark's G15 is now MOTed and living again after nearly 20 years off the road! All the corners of Paul's G4 are pointing in the right direction, it's got a big fuel tank and an exhaust now. |
18th December 2008 The first Ginetta Heritage Races confirmed for 2009 will be run by the BARC at Lydden Hill 27/27th June 2009. Our Copy of Autosport dropped onto the mat in GH HQ this morning to reveal: 1 The G50 is their car of the year 2 G20 racers McCarthy and Vernon were their number 2 rivals of the year. 3 G20 Junior Dino Zamparelli and G50 racer Nigel Moore featured in their National Drivers of the year top 10. Blimey! "Well done" does not really seem to cover it! |
15th December 2008 The great news regarding the G50 continuing in GT4 in 2009 is now out. This explains why the factory won't need to run Festivals in 2009, and why we may seem a bit slow on announcing our own Ginetta Heritage Racing dates etc. These will be clarified very soon and Spadge will be on the Ginetta Stand at the NEC Autosport Show for all four days. The workshop chaps have been working on a G12, 3 G4s and a G15 recently. Almost all of which should be back with their owners in time for Christmas. |
| 11th December 2008 Thanks to a large amount of work from Roger we now have the G15 Workshop Guide on line; over there on the right. Here's John Sambrook's G15 being driven around the original circuit at Watkins Glen, a few years ago. |
9th December 2008 We have a G4 square tube body and chassis and a G4 round tube body and chassis in stock. With so much stuff around us we can make up a package starting from £4500. There's a G15 for sale, and we are tempted to do a batch of Imp/G15 twin 40 DCOE Manifolds. Email us if you want one? The Ginetta Heritage Race Series will be joined by a Championship that will be free to enter for anyone competing in any Ginetta, anywhere in the world! Details of both will be published soon.
All you G2 owners will be relieved to hear that we will soon be able to supply you with a nose cone as we are making a mould! Oh, and don't forget to have a look at Dave keeping his foot down as a Ford Mustang tries to put him off the track by clicking in the video box up there, top left. |
28th November 2008 We spent a lot of time at the factory this week. They have a sparkly new website. The Electric G50 has a range of nearly 200 miles on one charge and a top speed of over 100mph. They built it in about 4 months flat!
The Zytec powered G50 is going to be an awesome GT race car for the higher categories. Ginetta now have their own mobile rolling road and are winners of the November 2008 silly sign competition!
|
18th November 2008 We delivered carpets for the G15s of Alex (had it from new) and Tony (new-boy, only 30 years) yesterday. We also collected parts for the G16 and the G4 kit Having just got round to reading the Ginetta feature in the November issue of Classic and Sports Car we were amazed to see that our friend Richard Heseltine quoted the 1.9 G32 as having a Peugeot engine! Well, why ask, when you can make it up?! |
13th November 2008 Reading through a 1970s copy of Autosport as one does here, we were amazed at the amount of Ginetta content and marvelled at the style of the advertising.John Absalom dominated at Rufforth beating another G4 driven by a singing Welshman. Brian Alexander took the class record at Prescott from a Chevron B8 Check out the G15 racer on Ebay! |
12th November 2008 The G15 carpet kits are in. We have one up for grabs. The G15 guide will hopefully be live online here soon. The Ginetta Cars website has a great link to a TV feature on the G50. Martyn's square tube G4 is coming back together onto a replacement chassis in preparation to race with us in the Ginetta Heritage Series. |
7th November 2008 The G12 we are doing for our partners Ginetta Cars is coming on well.We are working on a G15 because it's marginally drier than the owners motorbike! This week has seen a new member of staff settling in well. The Gould G4 is having windows and fuel tank attended to, too. Something for the weekend, Sir? |
5th November 2008 The G4 Square tube continuation kit prices are on the Bulletin Board. We are currently interested in buying such diverse items as an FT200 transaxle and pistons for the G2 100E side-valve engine! An interesting G4 was sold recently. |
31st October 2008 The Brands Hatch BOAC 1000km event in early 1969 was actually called the "500" according to the lucky purchaser of the Hickling G4.We have a round tube G4 project coming - £8000 will make you number 81 on the list of potential Heritage Racers! |
30th October 2008 The Brands Hatch BOAC 1000km event in early 1969 had at least two discerning spectators. Take a closer look by clicking on the picture and please let us know if you recognise either of these two cars. Our G4 has had a new rev counter, oil pressure gauge, race seat and some other minor fettling recently. The engine from the G2 is out and apart, soon to be rebuilt |
| 23rd October 2008 There is an interesting G4/4 on Ebay at the moment. It would make a good budget Heritage Race Series car. Here's a nice G16 picture for no other reason than we've been mostly thinking about them recently!
Mark Aston's G15 nearly lives again. There's a G4 rear end heading off for France soon. It's now time for the Gould G4 to come into the workshop for fuel tank and suspension work. The body is lovely and now she needs a good check-over! |
21st October 2008 Blimey! How time is flying by. We have a continuation G16 for sale with factory paperwork. And despite rumours to the contrary, Jim's G16 will be all shiny again by the end of the week following a recent a minor off in the hands of Dave Methley. We read of George Douglas' mishap in his G12 in Autosport but he tells us it's OK and he'll be out with us again next year. Graham Moore came to see us in his G15 recently. Following an enjoyable test drive on the winding A and B roads around here, he is booked in for some new front shocks and springs. G4 chassis prices on the bulletin board and there are other prices for panels etc coming soon, sooner on request. |
| 9th October 2008 The G12 is sold. The factory moulds have been sorted and put away under cover. Sadly there is little of the G33 and only the rear of the G32 but most other models are complete. Jim Chapman's G16 is for sale a couple of years and much money has been spent. Interested in paying a lot of money for it? and we have one of our own coming next week. We have a spare factory approved square tube G4 chassis available having done one for Martyn Hayward's car.
We have enough parts on the shelf to supply a continuation car that would be a cost-effective way of competing in the Ginetta Heritage Race Series 2009. Email us if interested |
26th September 2008 News from Japan and USA is just in. Anyone interested in a nearly finished G15, email here. We've been working on a mystery G12.... |
22nd September 2008 We have genuine round tube G4 in stock. The chaps at the Ginetta factory are finally coming to terms with working closely with our little operation.......We are looking to sponsor the right person who buys our G27 race car and enters it in the Club Ginetta Series next year. We should have the dates and regs for next year's Ginetta Heritage Race Series very soon and there is an online G15 user guide in the pipeline. |
12th September 2008 We love racing. Racing customers take priority. We were a little perturbed to learn that someone might not want to go Ginetta racing because he felt that; should he have an incident, the spares would take a long time to come to fruition. In fact, the period of 9 months was mentioned! When Mark Faulkner had an off at Spa (not his fault) he had a new front and rear for his G12 fitted in 2 days! Brian Ashley and several other G12 and G4 racers have had a similar service, not that there is a huge demand. We have all the G4 and G12 panels in stock. We have G12 chassis and a G4 chassis of each type in stock!! We have donor G15 chassis and the jig right here. And now with the support of the factory we are beginning to fill up our G15 moulds too. We have almost everything for a racing Ginetta G4, 12 or 15 on the shelf. It's some of the trim and restoration items that take a little longer. With only 180 man hours of highly skilled, Ginetta experienced labour capacity a week, the restorations do take time - especially if a race job comes in to jump the queue. But if a racing customer has a problem we can assure a rapid turnaround as long as the budget is there; and at £35 + VAT an hour we are not expensive! |
11th September 2008 The Heritage Races went extremely well despite awful weather on Saturday. There's some good stuff on the bulletin board. There was a great party put on by Ginetta Cars on Saturday night. Ginetta Heritage and our Races have become an integral part of the Factory's racing efforts and we will be announcing a full season of dates and new regs very soon. There were lots of fascinating and beautiful Ginettas on show as well as racing ones.
Celebrities like Damon Hill, Chris Meek and allegedly Vicky B-H were free to wonder about and enjoy the scene with us mortals although Chris seemed to attract at least one keen interviewer. Recent Ginetta articles in Autosport and Motorsport Magazine were interesting and there's one in the November issue of Classic and Sports Car too.
G15 Carpet sets are now listed and there is one set in the next batch available. |
3rd September 2008 The Heritage Race entries consist of G4s, G12s and G11/10s. It's going to be a great couple of days. We are expecting all sorts of lovely classic Ginettas on display including a G2, G17 , G18 and G22.Tickets for people we had promised have not arrived but will be available on the gate. Ring Spadge on 07831 843922 if you need to. GOC members can get in free with their membership card anyway. Sadly the G33 bonnet mould was missing from the pile of moulds we collected - lost in a fire apparently. We will make a new mould if there is enough interest. We are going to do a batch of G15 carpet kits - let us know if you want one! We had an interesting meeting at Lola Cars last week about the Historic UK Sports Racing and Prototype Racing Series for which the G12 and G16 will be eligible. More news soon. |
20th August 2008 We went up to the Factory yesterday. Like us, but on a different scale, they seem to have a lot on. There are some exciting versions of the G50 about including the road car that has a boot for two sets of Golf clubs, and electric G50 and a 500 + bhp G50. We rescued all the old moulds which means that we can now produce panels and in most cases COMPLETE SHELLS for the following on behalf of Ginetta Cars: G4, G8, G10, G11, G12, G15, G17, G18, G22, G4/4, G29, G32 and G33. |
| 18th August 2008 We're back. There's some news from Japan and USA. Entries are flooding in for the Heritage Race now so get yours in if you have not already done so. You should see the trophies! |
| 3rd August 2008 The office is closed until 18th August. The workshop will continue to function but we are not open for visitors.
The Ginetta Japan section finally has some content and we look forward to building on that in the coming months. |
